This is one of my favorite paintings. Something about the figure standing over the prone figure of the woman...the magnificent wingspan...the threatening posture...all very awe inspiring. Of course this painting is part of the basis for the novel "The Red Dragon" by Thomas Harris, the first in the Hannibal Lecter series. This was my computer wallpaper for a couple of years before I replaced it with the funky white tiger swimming underwater.Peace
